The overall objective is to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The EU is focusing on key sectors like energy, civil aviation, industrial processes and product use, agriculture, waste, land use, and forestry to meet these targets.

Russia

The Russian Federation is focused primarily on the capacity of forest and other ecosystems to sink carbon dioxide, and set the target of a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 to 70% relative to the 1990 level.

The world's top five emitters—China, the United States, India, European Union, and Russia— produce over half of all greenhouse gas emissions worldwide, making up 53.69% of total emissions. In contrast, the bottom 100 countries account for just 2.9% of emissions altogether.

Rwanda

Rwanda hopes to cut emissions 38% relative to business as usual by 2030, with a sectoral focus on energy; industrial processes and product use; waste; and agriculture, forestry and other land use. Moreover, Rwanda has a robust adaptation plan, with focuses ranging from water, to transport, to mining.
