HB 259 tasks the State Transportation Agency with developing a statewide plan for an electric vehicle charging network that reaches rural electric cooperatives and HB 396 authorizes Rocky Mountain Power to contribute $50 million towards building electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the state.
Governors from Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming agreed to provide a framework for the creation of an Intermountain West EV Corridor that will make it possible to drive an EV across major transportation corridors in the west.

The Community Renewable Energy Act provides a framework for municipalities and counties in Utah to establish community-oriented renewable energy programs. These programs aim to source 100% of electric energy from renewable resources by 2030 within participating communities.
